Meet Dr. Traci

At the head of Dr. Traci’s House is a woman who strives to make a difference every day, witnessed by her outpouring of advocacy work, especially concerning diabetes. Dr. Traci’s dedication to improving diabetes awareness is personal and hits close to home. Her younger brother Billy died at the age of 34 from complications of diabetes and in remembrance of him, she established an endowed scholarship at her medical school alma mater, The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Georgetown University, her Doctorate in Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her Master of Business Administration from Howard University.

She continues her local philanthropic efforts through her multi-year status as an American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure champion and serves as a board member of the Tampa Bay Community Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. Traci has worn many hats the last 10 years after making Tampa her home. As President and founder of Dr. Traci’s House, Dr. Traci is a board certified internal medicine doctor with over 17 years’ experience as a healthcare executive. Dr. Traci was raised by a single mom and her childhood reflects a similar socioeconomic background to many children who live in East Tampa.

She has dedicated her life’s work to making a significant positive impact in the lives of others. In her previous role as Chief Medical Director of Medical Management at Tampa-based WellCare Health Plans, Inc., Dr. Traci oversaw adherence of enterprise clinical policy for its Medicaid and Medicare Advantage members. Dr. Traci knows what high quality healthcare looks like and also knows how to measure it.
